Fluidigm corporation located in South California,USA , was founded in 1999 to commercialize the Integrated Fluidic Circuit (IFC) technology developed by Dr Stephen Quake of Stanford University , California , USA . IFC’s can play a vital role in the advancement of today’s life science and allied fields, including molecular diagnostics, personalized medicine, and wildlife conservation. With IFCs, scientists are able to conceive of and implement large, complex studies that further our knowledge of biology.
In 2002 Fluidigm made the commercial release of their TOPAZ® system for Protein Crystallization and in late 2006 released the first in a series of Biomark™ systems for high-throughput low volume Real Time PCR for gene expression and genotyping applications. Today Fluidigm offer 3 systems in the BioMark range of instruments as well as their TOPAZ system.
