COPY NUMBER ANALYSIS

Affymetrix provides a suite of products designed for researchers exploring the role of copy number in human disease.

The new Affymetrix Genome-Wide Human SNP Array 6.0 features 1.8 million genetic markers, including more than 906,600 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and more than 946,000 probes for the detection of copy number variation. The SNP Array 6.0 is the only platform with analysis tools to truly bridge copy number and association, including a new, high-resolution reference map and a copy number polymorphism (CNP) calling algorithm developed by the Broad Institute. The SNP Array 6.0 demonstrates industry-leading performance and represents more genetic variation on a single array than any other product, providing maximum panel power and the highest physical coverage of the genome.

CYTOGENETICS

Traditional cytogenetics techniques such as karyotyping and fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) have been used to study chromosomal abnormalities for decades. These techniques are limited to only providing low-resolution copy number information based on qualitative visualization. Designed to empower next-generation cytogenetic studies, the CytoScan® HD Cytogenetics Solution provides a genome-wide approach that enables high-resolution DNA copy number analysis to detect gains, losses, loss of heterozygosity (LOH), regions identical-by-descent, and uniparental isodisomy (UPD) on a single array.

GENE TITAN

The GeneTitan® family of instruments and proven GeneChip® Array Plates from Affymetrix are the first to provide a hands-free, automated solution for monitoring gene expression and genome-wide SNP genotyping.

The GeneTitan Instrument and the GeneTitan® Multi-Channel (MC) Instrument automate array processing from target hybridization to data generation by combining a hybridization oven, fluidics processing, and state-of-the art imaging device into a single bench-top instrument.

The imaging device in the GeneTitan MC Instrument uses an external, high-intensity xenon lamp and dual excitation and emission filters to capture images from array plates for use in genome-wide expression and genotyping studies. The imaging device in the single-channel GeneTitan Instrument uses an internal LED and a single emission filter to acquire data from the industry-leading expression array plates for genome-wide expression profiling.

The system includes the four-color GeneChip Scanner 3000 7G Plus with AutoLoader, two Fluidics Station 450s, Hybridization Oven 645, a powerful computer workstation with quad-core Xeon processors loaded with Affymetrix GeneChip Command Console Software (AGCC), pre-amp and post-amp workstations with GeneChip® Targeted Genotyping Analysis Software and a 2D handheld barcode reader with each workstation.


Molecular Diagnostics

GENECHIP® SYSTEM3000Dx

The GeneChip® System 3000Dx (GCS 3000Dx) is the first microarray instrumentation system for molecular diagnostic laboratories. The system consists of the Fluidics Station 450Dx, which automates hybridization, washing and staining of the array; the GCS 3000Dx Scanner with AutoLoader Dx, which allows you to load 48 microarrays to be scanned without operator intervention; and a Workstation with GCOS Dx software.

The GCS 3000Dx is 510(k)-cleared and CE-marked for in vitro diagnostic use in conjunction with the Roche Diagnostics AmpliChip CYP450 Test. The AmpliChip CYP450 Test is the first microarray-based diagnostic test and the first product to be released through the Powered by Affymetrix™ partnership between Affymetrix and Roche Diagnostics.

GENECHIP® SYSTEM 3000Dx v.2

The Affymetrix GeneChip® System 3000Dx v.2 (GCS 3000Dx v.2) is Affymetrix' second-generation solution for seamless DNA and RNA analysis.

The GCS 3000Dx v.2- which is 510(k) cleared and CE marked for in vitro diagnostic use- consists of the GeneChip® Scanner 3000Dx v.2, the GeneChip® Fluidics Station 450Dx v.2 and Workstation with Affymetrix Molecular Diagnostics Software (AMDS).
