Odyssey CLx Infrared Imaging System - NEW

The Quantitative Western Blot Standard for Almost 10 Years Just Got Better!

The Odyssey CLx Infrared Imaging System is the next generation of the Odyssey Classic, the most trusted and established standard in Western blot technology.LI-COR Odyssey CLx

The Odyssey CLx improves upon the Odyssey Classic through:

  • Simplified User Interface
  • Improved Dynamic Range
  • Time-Saving Autoscan Feature

The Odyssey CLx is the most flexible and multifunctional platform of the Odyssey imaging systems. It has been designed to accommodate numerous applications, helping you to achieve results faster. The Odyssey CLx offers ease of use with one-button image acquisition as part of an autoscan feature that provides a wide dynamic range greater than six logs. This feature, along with a simplified user interface, allows you to reach excellent results simply and efficiently.

Two Independent Infrared Detection Channels

Two separate lasers and detectors simultaneously detect both fluorescent signals. The optical system employs diode lasers and solid-state detectors with long lifetimes and very low maintenance requirements. Infrared laser excitation outperforms systems that use white light, LED light sources, and filter wheels by delivering higher intensity excitation light to the fluorophore. A variety of fluorescent dyes and stains are compatible with the 700 nm and 800 nm excitation wavelengths of the two diode lasers in the Odyssey CLx. Spectral overlap is minimized by a 100 nm separation of the two detection channels, and optical filtering ensures that each detector measures fluorescence from only one of the infrared dyes.

Odyssey Fc Imaging System

Loading...

The Odyssey Fc Imager is the first CCD imager that offers excellent infrared (IR) fluorescent and chemiluminescent imaging performance in one system. The Odyssey Fc optical system combines solid-state laser diodes at 685 and 785 nm with a low-noise, CCD camera for detection of IR and chemiluminescent signals.

Chemiluminescence detection is simplified with the Odyssey Fc Imaging System. Film and darkroom steps are eliminated, along with the hazardous waste and excessive water usage of film development.

FieldBrite™ XT technology acquires images over the full dynamic range every time, with minimal user adjustments. With the proprietary technologies of the Odyssey Fc Imaging System, a single instrument can perform quantitative IR fluorescent detection PLUS qualitative chemiluminescent detection. Publication-quality images are easy to produce with either detection method. (Because chemiluminescence is a time-dependent enzymatic reaction, its quantitative range is limited. IR fluorescence is superior for quantification.)

The Odyssey Fc Imaging System includes LI-COR Image Studio Software for fast, easy image acquisition and analysis. At the push of a button, targets of interest can be imaged over more than six logs of linear dynamic range in every acquisition.

4300 DNA Analyzer

For the professional, student, or faculty researcher, the 4300 DNA Analyzer from LI-COR will accelerate your research and improve the quality of your data. High confidence in more precise data is the edge that researchers using LI-COR DNA analyzer have had for more than 20 years. The 4300 System is a third generation instrument based on LI-COR's highly sensitive infrared fluorescence detection technology.

OVERVIEW AND ADVANTAGES

Infrared Advantage

4300 instrumentation, software, reagents, and applications are all part of an integrated system designed to achieve the highest accuracy. Infrared detection is a key advantage since biological molecules, gels, and glass plates have little infrared fluorescence. With low background fluorescence, dye signals are clean and strong. Infrared detection gives 4300 DNA Analyzers excellent sensitivity.

Independent Detection

4300 DNA Analyzers feature LI-COR's unique, two channel detection that eliminates errors due to fluorescence overlap. The fluorescence of the two IR dyes are separated by 100 nm. Two separate sets of optically tuned lasers and detectors measure fluorescence from IR dyes independently.

High Sensitivity and Wide Dynamic Range

Underloaded or overloaded samples are accurately detected because LI-COR images use more than 65,000 grayscales per pixel (16-bit) to display the wide dynamic range of the 4300 DNA Analyzer. Unprocessed fluorescence data are captured in TIFF image format for highest fidelity.

Two Highly Reliable Diode Lasers

The 4300 DNA Analyzer is designed for multi-purpose operation. In addition to being an excellent research tool, the 4300 DNA Analyzer is designed to meet demanding undergraduate training and research environments. Features such as diode lasers (similar to a CD player) make the instrument rugged and dramatically reduce maintenance and operation expenses. The instrument can also operate on demand after periods of inactivity without any expensive start-up costs.

Two Separate Detectors

As samples pass in front of the scanning laser/microscope, two solid-state avalanche photodiodes detect fluorescence. Optical filtering assures that each detector measures fluorescence from only one of the infrared dyes.

Two Real Time Images

A separate image (similar to an autoradiogram) for each IR dye is collected in real time and can be displayed in an Internet browser or LI-COR application software (e-Seq, Saga, etc.).

Easily Adapts to any Lab or Network

The 4300 instrument contains a server that can operate either in a stand-alone configuration or connected to your network. An Internet browser or LI-COR Application Software can be used to start electrophoresis. The server software completely controls electrophoresis and data storage during a run. Two 16-bit TIFF images are stored on the 4300's server during a run. The 4300 System gives you maximum data access. Any computer can connect to the 4300 System via Internet browser or LI-COR Application Software (e-Seq, Saga, etc.). In a network environment, image data can be accessed from your office or over the Internet. Secure, password-protected server software assures that only members of your project have access to your data. The 4300 System is as expandable as the Internet. You can add all the capacity you'll ever need, without ever buying another computer. One computer can connect to any number of 4300 Systems to start runs or retrieve and analyze data.
