Steroid hormones are metabolites synthesised from cholesterol and primarily produced in the adrenal glands and gonads. As compared to other techniques, mass spectrometry offers the opportunity to quantify multiple steroid hormones in a single run with a higher accuracy.

The AbsoluteIDQ® Stero17 Kit provides a comprehensive solution for steroid hormone profiling. From a single serum sample, the kit enables the quantification of up to 17 steroid hormones from five steroid hormone classes:

Biocrates Bile Acids Kit

Beyond this core function, bile acids exert many additional biological functions via receptor signaling, including the nuclear receptor farnesoid X receptor (FXR). Since bile acids are modulated by bacteria in the intestines, bile acids are also of great interest in studies related to the role of gut microbiota in health and disease.

The Biocrates® Bile Acids Kit uses the sensitive and specific technology of mass spectrometry to provide quantitative information about up to 20 bile acids.

The compounds covered by the kit include all four types of bile acids:
