Plate Based Assays

Cell- or plate-based assays are an important and commonly used experimental biology research tool that allows the assessment of cell health after experimental treatment or manipulation.

Assays are performed in microtiter plates and are designed to assess biological, chemical or physical events of samples. These assays are widely used in research, drug discovery, bioassay validation, quality control and manufacturing processes in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries and academic organisations. Common detection modes for microplate assays are absorbance, fluorescence intensity, luminescence, time-resolved fluorescence, and fluorescence polarisation.
